Argyle vs Cheltenham - Match Preview

With Romain Larrieu announcing his retirement from the professional game this afternoon after the last home game of the season against Cheltenham Town.  It will prove to be an emotional day for Larrieu who has worn a green shirt for the past 11 and half years proving to be an Argyle legend. Larrieu had made the decision days after fellow Frenchman Maxime Blanchard had committed his future with Argyle after signing a new 2year deal with the pilgrims.
If everything goes well Carl Fletcher will be looking to give Larrieu one more appearance and a great send off from the green army when he will come on for Jake Cole in the last few minutes off the game.

The pilgrims will be without four first team players this afternoon when the take on Cheltenham Town who have made the short trip down the M5.  These players are Darren Purse, who will have to sit out after undergoing a toe operation on Friday.  The other players include Simon Walton and Nick Chadwick who will watch from the stands due to shoulder and knee injuries.  Paul Wotton will also be missing from the starting 11 due to precautionary reasons.  He has picked up 14yellow cards this season.  If he was to pick up another yellow he would have to miss 3games of next season.

Cheltenham arrive into Devon with two former pilgrims on broad.  These players are Steve MacLean and Plymouth-born midfielder Luke Summerfield who had come though the youth ranks at Plymouth Argyle.

We have been though a lot this season so let’s stick together and give the team and most importantly Romain Larrieu an exceptional send off.  Once a green always a green.  GREEN ARMY.
