Aldershot Town
make their second trip down to Plymouth in a number of weeks to face an injury
hit Plymouth Argyle side at Home Park.
The first trip was the first game of the Npower League Two season where
the Pilgrims were beaten 2-0.
Today however is
the second round of the Johnstone Paint Trophy.
Aldershot were victorious over Devon Rivals Exeter City at St James
Park, where they nocked 4 penalties past the Grecians to win the game 4-3,
after the game had finished 0-0 in 90minutes.
For Argyle they had a bye in the first round competition for both league
one and two. The winners from tonight’s
cup game will qualify for the last eight of the southern section. This will be three games away from Wembley.
Carl Fletcher
will be without eight first team players when his side take on Aldershot Town –
an early kick-off of 7pm. This is to
encourage younger fans of the green army to come and support the boys and
Fletcher. Jamie Richards will be certain
to make he’s football debut tonight.
Fletcher who only has 3 current fit defenders including Jamie is looking
to bring in a defender before tonight’s game, with all the injuries and suspensions
that are occurring at Home Park. Also unavailable
for this evenings game is Onismor Bhasera, he is on international duty with
Zimbabwe, the team are looking to qualify for the African Cup of Nations when
they play Angola in the second leg of the qualifier where his team already lead
3-1 going into the game. Also unavailable for this evening’s cup game
are Alex MacDonald and Guy Madjo. These two
players’ loan deals expired after Saturdays defeat to AFC Wimbledon at Home
Park. However Madjo could be making a
quick return to Home Park when his team Aldershot Town come to town. Manager
Carl Fletcher will be looking to extend the loan deals of the pair after tonight’s
game against Aldershot.
