Plymouth Argyle will make the long trip up to Yorkshire
today, Saturday 27th October, when manager Carl Fletcher and his
team will come across one former green when they take on Rotherham United. Kari Arnason who spent two
enjoyable years in Plymouth departed Home Park when the club was in financial crisis
and also in administration. The administrator
sacked him effectively after he refused to sign a deed of deferral over unpaid
wages in June 2011. The Icelandic International, one of Carl Fletcher’s favourite
teammates moved to Rotherham after sending last season in Scotland with
Aberdeen teaming up with many former Pilgrims at Pittodrie
A run of three straight wins on the bounce in league and cup
games ended on Tuesday evening after a 2-1 defeat in Gloucester against a
strong Cheltenham Town side. A superb
turnout of 650 supporters of the green army was to witness an outstanding
display from Argyle which they deserved to get something out of the game. From the game Conor Hourihane was to pick up
his fifth yellow card of the season. This
means that he is suspended for this Npower league 2 encounter with Rotherham United
at The New York Stadium. This may mean
that Cornishman Jamie Lowry will make his long awaited league debut for
Plymouth Argyle. Jamie was released by
Chesterfield at the end of last season. The
Newquay born player has not played for Argyle since injuring his ankle when the
Pilgrims played Truro City in a pre-season game at Treyew Road in July. Versatile
player Onismor Bhasera will also be looking to make it back into the squad to
face Rotherham. The Zimbabwe player has
missed the last couple of weeks due to injury and international commitments. Another key player Andres Gurrieri will be looking
to have secured his place in the starting 11 after putting in magnificent
displays against Rochdale and Cheltenham.
